Hopscotch

“I know life is surrounded with lots of obstacles but childhood had already trained me to stride them with a hopscotch...” - Sangeeta

I am so excited to be sharing this brand, new quilt pattern with you today. I designed this quilt pattern to be both a quilt and a toy and all fun!

There is nothing more precious then to witness children playing creatively and actively together. My hope is that this Hopscotch Quilt will inspire just that. Active fun and memories. Click HERE for the pattern.

The Hopscotch quilt pattern uses raw-edge applique, making it a fun and quick project and I know it’s presence in your home will create many fun memories. I love to use Lite HeatnBond for all my raw-edge quilting projects.

Now, let me introduce you to the fabrics I used in this sample quilt. This fabric line is called "Community" and is designed by Rachel of Citrus and Mint Designs for Riley Blake Designs. I loved using this meaningful line for a quilt whose purpose is to bring people together through the game of hopscotch! Just look at the adorable Main print with all the fun activities people are playing. These fun prints and colors are sure to have you hopping as you are sewing!

Why don’t you snuggle up under the Hopscotch quilt to watch a movie and at commercials, lay it on the floor and have a little exercise. Take it along on a sleepover to grandmas house or make a few and give them away as fun and creative gifts.

Now, this is not the first project I have sewn with Community Fabric. Last spring, I had the opportunity to design and sew a few dolls for Rachel's Virtual Quilt Market booth for Riley Blake Designs. I brought some of her characters to life in doll form - inspired by her main print. You can search the Pattern Shop HERE or scroll to the bottom for a direct link to the patterns.

Thank you for joining me today as we share our gifts of sewing and quilting with the joys of family fun activity time!
