"Life is short, SQUEEZE all you can out of it!"
There is just something so magical about citrus fruit! Adding a lemon slice to garnish your favorite salad, or a sweet and juicy mandarin orange to quench your thirst! I wanted to design an animal doll that I know would be reminiscent of the freshness of spring!
If you research the history of rag dolls, you will find many bunny dolls. Why? They are sweet, smart, fast and quite nostalgic! That is probably why so many children's books are written with bunnies and rabbits as the main characters!
When I first spotted Jill Finley's Grove fabric from Riley Blake Designs, I knew the colors, designs and freshness of this fabric line, would be a wonderful fit for my NEW Bunny Doll Sewing Pattern or Embroidery Pattern.
Isn't it amazing, how even the black background prints in this fabric line, have a light and fresh feeling to them!
I designed the Bunny Doll pattern in both Sewing Machine and Embroidery Machine formats. The patterns include illustrated step by step instructions to hand embroider or applique the floral crown and facial features in the SEWING pattern and options for embellishments in the EMBROIDERY machine pattern. Both patterns include links to LIVE video tutorials I have posted in INSPIRED DOLL MAKING Facebook Group to help you have the greatest success making your own Modern Rag Doll - Bunny Doll.
Do you want a surprise?...
Look closely at her tummy! There is a matching, secret pocket on this sweet Bunny Doll pattern so she can carry her carrots, Easter chocolates, or even a special note!!! I just LOVE surprises, don't you?!
Next, I sewed up 3 little basic Spring Fling dresses and added an apron and border trim to each of them! You can find the basic pattern for this dress in either SEWING machine or EMBROIDERY machine formats in my shop. This dress fits ALL Bee Sew Inspired dolls in 14", 16" and 18" sizes!
When I finished sewing up these 3 bunny dolls I began cleaning up my scraps. As I was cleaning up the little bits of leftover fabric... INSPIRATION came to me. I quickly sketch out the idea that was in my head and then ran over to my computer and drew the citrus block I was imagining in EQ8. After playing around with the design I created, I settled on the vision for a mini quilt / doll quilt!!! I couldn't stop and just had to test out this cute little citrus block! It finishes at just 3" square! Eeeepppp! Isn't it just so sweet?
I decided I could gather up enough tiny pieces to make a few more blocks and whipped up this Citrus Peel Mini Quilt in just a few short hours! I am so happy with how it turned out. I just adore how the the Grove black background fabric makes the citrus blocks POP!!! I am writing this bonus, inspiration pattern as we speak! I am so excited I followed my heart and took the time to listen when inspiration struck!
Hope you find a little extra ZEST for life in your day today!
Hello nice blog.
